Our reefs are suffering and they are giving us one big white hint: bleached coral. Coral bleaching of this magnitude hasn’t occurred in thousands of years, yet we don’t seem too fussed about it. But how can we be, when it’s happening far below our feet?
On Earth Day, we’ll bring the problem to the surface and take colour out of our own ecosystem to reflect what is going on in the ocean’s ecosystem.
We’ll work with Pixar’s animators to release a short of Finding Nemo where all the coral in the film has been bleached. The audio will be dubbed to have the characters comment on the issue.
